PHOTO | APPELPOP 2012

Hi Loves, remember I told you about the best weekend of my life in September: Appelpop? I took two of those little trow-away-camera's with me and made lots and lots of pictures. A lot of them are not so pretty, but these are seven of them that I do really like. I believe the second and fifth picture prove that I'm not ashamed of my beautiful, beautiful face in both pictures. Because of the fact that it was so amazing, I don't really care my face doesn't look too good on most pictures, haha. Have fun with these, kind of a-sneak-peak-in-the-life-of, pictures and scroll down for some background information...
1.This one came out the best, it's a performance by 'de Jeugd van Tegenwoordig' which is dutch rap band with amazing (but crazy) lyrics! //
2. The ultimate duckface // 3. My lovely docs and festival beer, which is always awful // 4. Also at JVT. We had to sit on each others necks and well, everybody did it. That was such a cool moment // 5. Me in the middle of my lovely friends. We went with a HUGE group, it was so nice // 6. No idea when or where I made this picture, but I think it looks so cool // 7. My best friend Thomas, who had the chance to play on Appelpop. I'm a real proud friend! //

Tormorrow it's monday again, and after a short break (a week, but it went by SO extremely fast!) I have to go back to school again. I know a lot of you guys have fall-break starting on monday, lucky you! I'll get to you between all the studying, another testweek's also coming up. Love, Demi

NEW IN Things of wool and things that smell nice

Hi Loves, did a little shopping in Utrecht with my parents today. We hadn't gone shopping for a while so it felt great to 'be out there' again. Because I'm saving up for a new lens (YEAH!) and my school's trip to Prague (YEAH!), I told myself to buy only things that I really liked and really needed. Unfortunately (or fortunately for my bank account) I couldn't find a specific tee I wanted from H&M, so this is what I spend my money on today. Only €15 euros were spent, I'm climbing the ladder of low-budget you guys. Check it out...
Beanie €7,95 - Bronzing powder €3,95 (small size) - Body butter / Lip balm €1 on sale - Scrub gloves €1,95 (comes in a package of two)

I mad this shirt last week. Or well, made it: my mom bought it for me at this amazing store you all know very well called Action. It was in the men's section (can't really call it a section in that store though) and I cut it off. Result: I like it!

Blood Orange: best smell in the WORLD!

The bronzing powder. It's not as pigmented as I thought it would be, since everyone is always very positive about the H&M bronzer. But I still like it, the tone is just a tone darker than my regular 'tan-tone', which is perfect for me!

I will see you guys soon, it's time for school now! I have to make math, work on my PWS (do you know what that is by the way? Dutchies probably do) and read english books. It's really coming out of my nose right now, but I really have to pass my exams in May!
Love, Demi

PHOTO A little taste of my room

Hi Loves, I always find it fascinating how someone's room (or house) can say so much about who that person is and what he or she likes. Today, I spent the entire morning cleaning my room. I had plans for the day, but they got cancelled and whenever I have something planned and it doesn't happen, I get bored and start doing things I wouldn't normally do. Like cleaning my room, haha. I will take you through the pictures, and through my room, and tell you a little about them... These are four of my favourite sunglasses: A cat-eye (gifted), brown with round glasses (Action), black round rayban model (H&M) and some old fashion ones from Primark. Further on the little desk are some cd's, oil and candles for a nice smell and some junk. While I was cleaning, I found a couple of pages from old ELLE magazines that I once cut out with the idea of making a moodboard. I decided today was the time to finish that and this is the result. A little bit of inspiration on my door, so I won't go to school with a blank mind and I'll always have something to think about. Something I've seen in a flash, on my door. As mainstream/hipster/you call it as it is: I also have one of those little notebook things, in which I write poems, songs and sayings. I feel pathetic right now, haha. I also have drawings in it and whenever I find a nice saying, like this one, I can't stop myself from writing it in my notebook. On the left you can see part of my beauty table: my parfumes. This is just a really small part of it, I have a ridiculous amount of parfum in a box underneath my bed! My favourite ones? Replay - intense for her, Bruno Banani - Magic Woman / Made for Women and Beckham's signature are definitely recommendations! On the right you can see the result of getting ELLE on you doormat every month and the little notebook from the other picture. It's from Action by the way, another recommendation! To wrap it up: My tambourine and some hippie sunglasses. I don't believe I've ever worn those out in public though...

Well, that was my room, all detailed and very short. Now a question remains: does your idea of my personality match my room? Or does my sense of style match my room. You probably get to where I am going? I would love for you guys to tour your room on your blog, so I can see (and read, does that sound weird by the way?) yours as well! Let me know if you have. Love, Demi

PHOTO Old is old, but old is gold

All pictures taken by me

Hi Loves, something different today. Those who've been following me for a while now, might recognize some of the pictures. Most of them were taken with my old camera, but I still love all of them. The quality aint stunning, but I kind of find that adorable about these ones. From left to right, up to the bottom:
1. Birthday cake, taken about 2 years ago 2. Outfit details from this old post 3. All dutchies know what I mean when I say man met schnor, haha 4. Inside an old bookstore in Utrecht, I think it was 5. Best store ever! 6. Again, outfit details from the old post (see 2.) 7. I sat inside it, overcame my biggest fear.
I have holidays now, which means for me: lots and lots of school work to do! I hope I'll see you soon. Love, Demi

OUTFIT Jack Daniels

Hi Loves, do you remember this shirt? I bought it in Croatia, as a huge men shirt and cut it myself. For years I've wanted a Jack Daniels shirt, which is funny since I never drank a shot of wodka haha. We'll do that some other time, when I'm a little older I guess. But for now: already have the shirt to go with the drink. Paired it with my new Primark blazer (it was only €19!), jeans, my favourite booties and some low cover, gold jewellery. Whatcha think?
Another thing: I noticed my texts aren't as long as they used to be. When I first started the blog, I mostly wrote about 30 lines with just two pictures. Now I post lots of pictures with just a little text and I feel like it's really unpersonal. Of course, pictures can say more than a thousand words, but since this blog is also kind of my personal diary, I'm going to try to tell you more again. So first off, let's start this thing good, I'm preparing some performances and I'm writing lots of songs, careerwise things are working out fine. I've been pretty much struggling on the personal hand, but I'm sure things will work out in the end. They always do, don't they :). So my question of today is really simple, but I am really curious: how are you?  Love, Demi

OUTFIT September flew away, October starts today

Hi Loves, How long has it been? School has defenitely started again, it really shows on the blog. But I feel happy to make time for another post! This is a real simple outfit with my beloved army jacket from this post. I've worn this all over September, so I thought I might show it to you. Last sunday I visited friend of my parents in Utrecht. I really love the neigbourhood they live in. The houses are all in 30's and 50's style and the people are all very kind and well, just different I guess. So I always really feel at ease out there! The necklace is one of the things I bought at Primark. Of course I'm still going to post a haul for you guys, don't worry! Where do you feel most comfortable? Love, Demi
